“I work with darkroom based processes, I use photo waste in my work and I am a darkroom hand printer. Essentially, what I do is expose light to light sensitive papers, upcycle darkroom handprints into objects and investigate the nature of things in metaphors of the objects I create. Most of my work is based on various books that I am researching.
Gorkova’s practice is an investigation of photographic potentialities. They ask questions rather than answer them. What is photographic? How do we do photography as a fine art practice in a world so oversaturated, exhausted by imagery? What photography can be? These are the focus points that are present within the conversations # on photography with Anya Gorkova
