'great moments' zine making workshop with Sky Dair

  • PHOTO BOOK CAFE 4 Leonard Circus London, England, EC2A 4DQ United Kingdom (map)

Sky Dair- I will lead a somatic zine making process focusing on how to find and celebrate the small moments that bring us joy and ground us in our days. It will begin with a tapping meditation (not scary, nice and soothing) and some free writing/drawing to shed the stress that we enter the space with. We will then look through my archive book, discussing how the seeking of the small daily joys can lead to bigger work/photos but also make the process of creativity feel more instinctive. Using stamps, participants will somatically (this just means relating/using the body) decorate a section of their zine, thinking about how we can translate the images and sights stored on our camera rolls with our hands. They will then have a chance to collage/write/draw/doodle the other sections of the zine thinking about what each brings us these moments of peace and how to cultivate more of this as we go about our days. There will be a chance at the end to look at what each other has done and have an informal discussion/wrap up.

The workshop will be hosted at The Photobook Cafe in our Basement Gallery from 14:00-17:00.

Please note our basement gallery has no step free access and 25 steps.
