In "Mica Reads Jokes," Lucija Rosc offers an insightful exploration into the lives of her grandparents, with a particular focus on her grandmother, Mica. Drawing from her personal experiences and observations, Rosc presents a comprehensive look at the profound influence her grandparents have had on her own identity and understanding of familial bonds.
This project features a sound recording of Mica reciting jokes from her pocket-sized joke book. Recorded in one take, the recording serves as a comedic album showcasing Mica's collection of jokes. Between 2000 and 2010, Mica gathered jokes from her friends, newspapers, and various sources. She reads these handwritten, carefully selected jokes from her small book, which she keeps in her wallet, always ready for a moment of laughter.
The sound recording is cut onto a vinyl record, accompanied by an index that corresponds to the sequence of jokes in the actual book. In addition to the vinyl record (audiobook), Lucija includes a reproduction of the actual joke book, serving as a "lyrics booklet." This project is a heartfelt tribute to Lucija's grandmother and a testament to the joy and influence her grandparents have brought into her life.
