Stephen Nussey is a retired professor of medicine, prize winning author and biker who has loved black & white photography for 60 years. Of his achievements he is proudest of his recovery from alcoholism.
His current project is a series of portraits of 50 people with various addictions who had been clean and sober for between one and fifty-six years at the time the photograph was taken. Each was taken in a situation or with items that symbolised the benefits of recovery to that individual. The title A Day At A Time comes from the advice given to those starting out in recovery to get to bed without a drink or a drug.
